Who would be interested in your book?

Still feeling overwhelmed by the community response to and support for my book. I looked back at some work I did for a course on writing a book proposal for the university of Wisconsin. Here is how I imagined my target audience. ” Target Audience
The following information supports the existence of an enthusiastic niche of women who comprise the ideal audience for Traveling into the Patagonian Wind: My Solo Journey to Joy. We all know at least one single, retired woman who has become despondent about their new phase of life. She fears traveling alone. The size of this demographic is substantial and growing. “Grey divorce” has been steadily growing, yet of the world’s traveling population, only 11% are single-again, retired females. According to a 2016 Statistics Canada survey, 16.6% of Canadians were seniors and of these 50% are women. My book illustrates how travel is perspective changing, and a source of new joy. My target audience is these women who express some tension about the process and never travel. My book will convince them they can travel alone, safely, and confidently. The passenger travelling through this book will return refreshed to her normal existence and commence her own inward or outward journey.
A secondary market exists among those who already love to travel, regardless of age, marital status, or sex. Those who are interested in popular trekking adventures in Patagonia, searching for out-of-the-way Chilean and Argentinian destinations, or becoming familiar with the culture of South Americans in general will find this book invaluable. “
Now, judging by the discussions I have had with folks who are or will be reading my book, I think that I came close, but I didn’t imagine a third audience…all my dear friends who are reading it and discovering more about the hiking buddy, the fellow church-goer, the fellow book-club member who they thought they knew:). Now I have a more concrete answer to the question I was once asked when I described my big-picture idea to write this memoir, : Who would be interested in what you did on your trip?
